NewApp UÜ is the data controller for the personal data described here. If we ever appoint a data protection officer, their details will replace this sentence.
What we collect
What you give us
- Your email address, if you create an account.
- Your food entries — the items you log, when you bought or opened them, and when you mark them used or thrown out.
- Receipt photographs, if you use that feature, and the text extracted from them.
- Anything you write to us in a support email.
What the app records as you use it
- Basic technical data needed to run the service: device type, app version, and error reports.
- Which suggestions you acted on, so the date estimates get better for you.
What we do not collect
- We do not track your location.
- We do not record audio or video.
- We do not buy data about you from third parties.
Why we use it, and on what basis
- To run the service — logging items, calculating dates, sending you the daily suggestion. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.
- To improve date estimates — using your own usage history to adjust your own predictions. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- To manage your subscription — confirming your entitlement with the App Store. Legal basis: performance of a contract. Note that Apple, not NewApp UÜ, processes your payment details; we never see your card.
- To keep the service working and secure — error reports and abuse prevention. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a functioning product.
What we never do
We do not sell your data. We do not share your shopping list, your food entries, or your email address with retailers, brands, advertisers, or data brokers, for any amount of money, in aggregate or otherwise.
Who else processes it
We use a small number of service providers to host and run the app. Each is bound by a data processing agreement and may only act on our instructions.
How long we keep it
- Food entries — while your account is open, and for 30 days after you delete it, after which they are removed from backups.
- Receipt photographs — deleted once the text has been extracted.
- Subscription records — for as long as Estonian accounting law requires them to be kept.
- Support emails — 24 months.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to another provider. You can also withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis.
Account deletion and a full export are available from the app's settings without contacting anyone. For anything else, email newapp@newappsupport.com and we will respond within one month.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, aki.ee).
Cookies and this website
This site sets no analytics or advertising cookies. If we add measurement later, we will update this section and ask for your consent first.
Children
Due AI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that materially affects you, we will email you before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
